CLARK LEADS OBCA PLAYER OF THE YEAR PICKS
By Coaches Aid Staff: After a sensational junior campaign there’s probably little question why Douglass’ Stephen Clark has been named the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year.
All the tremendous talent did was average 25 points and 11 assists per game for the Trojans, who won another Class 4A state title, their third with Clark leading the charge.
Union’s Rudy Garcia was honored as the OBCA Coach of the Year after guiding the unbeaten Redskins to the Class 6A state championship.
J.C. Hartzler took home 6A Player of the Year honors while McGuinness’ Matt Christiansen did the same in 5A with Clark garnering honors in 4A.
Sperry big man C.J. Cole was chosen the 3A Player of the Year while high-scoring Haworth guard Quinton Threadgill was the choice in 2A. Velma-Alma’s Corbin Byford was selected for Class A and Forgan’s Rhett Radcliff in Class B.
